Symptoms we see at our Sidcup clinic

If any of these sound familiar, an assessment with one of our registered osteopaths is a sensible first step.

Lower back stiffness

Hard to get going in the morning, or pain after sitting at a desk all day.

Sciatica

Shooting pain, pins and needles or numbness travelling down the leg.

Disc-related pain

Sharp pain on bending, lifting or twisting that doesn't settle on its own.

Muscle spasm

A "locked" back that came on suddenly with a bend, sneeze or twist.

Pain after lifting

Carrying children, gardening, moving house or DIY strains.

Recurring flare-ups

An old back problem that keeps coming back every few months.

Our approach

Most lower-back pain and sciatica responds well to hands-on osteopathy combined with simple exercises you can do at home. We start with a full assessment to work out what's driving your pain — joints, discs, muscles, nerves or posture — and then explain it in plain English.

Treatment typically combines gentle joint mobilisation, soft-tissue work and stretching, with practical advice on sitting, sleeping and lifting. Most patients feel a meaningful difference within two or three sessions.

If we don't think osteopathy is the right answer, we'll tell you and point you in the right direction — including writing to your GP if that's helpful.
